Strategy
Iron Tide Command
★★★★☆ 4.2
Iron Tide Command asks you to think a few moves ahead. You manage shipyards, route supply lines between islands, and commit fleets to battles that play out with real weight. It's slower than most mobile strategy games, and that's exactly why it clicked for me.
The economy is the heart of it. Overextend your navy and you'll starve your ports; hoard resources and a rival will grow past you. I lost my first three campaigns badly before I understood how to balance expansion with defense.
Battles are semi-automated but you set formations and tactics beforehand, so a well-planned fight often wins itself. The AI is sharp enough to punish lazy planning without feeling cheap.
What we liked
- Economy that forces real trade-offs
- Formations and tactics you set before each fight
- A steep but fair learning curve
